Flora MacDonald

MacDonald (c. 1722-1790) has become an infamous figure in Scottish history. Flora became famous after aiding the escape of Bonnie Prince Charlie following his defeat at the Battle of Culloden in 1746, during the Jacobite Rebellion. A fearsome female, she has become immortalised in the The Skye Boat Song that narrates the getaway.
