Isabella MacDuff

Isabella MacDuff (c. 1286-1313) was the daughter of the Earl of Fife and a member of the MacDuff clan. During the Scottish Wars of Independence, her husband sided with the English. A Scottish patriot, Isabella defied him and used his horsemen to ride to Scone, where she crowned Robert the Bruce king of Scotland. Her defiance cost her four years of her life, which she spent in prison.
